Barnston Lodge wedding photography
As the days become shorter and an autumnal coolness fills the air, I’ve realised that it’s been some months since I’ve blogged a wedding story. Let’s start the catch-up with a truely great one. The Barnston Lodge wedding photography of the delightful Jim and Carly.
Hot. Really hot. The summer sun was beating down from start to finish. A feast of traditional church wedding and reception in the grounds of a stunning home, tucked away and off the more busy local wedding radar. A gem. Essex wedding venue Barnston Lodge.
My day started in Hornchurch, Essex, at the home of a delightful couple. Jim and Carly. The girls were being skillfully beautified in the capable and skillfull hands of Olivia Ferrer. Great light in the kitchen area to play with and the humour was flowing. Not a sign of pre-wedding nerves from Carly.
A very Dapper crowd – Jim and the guys. Sharp suits. Just a short walk along from Barston Lodge is the unusual white washed church – St Andrews. This makes this whole church/reception venue such a unique location. I’d actually never heard of it before, after 500 weddings and close to 12 years as an Essex wedding photographer. Just perfect for a summer marriage, with your own personal spin on the venue styling.
The service was really spesh. Nothing like a gospel choir to raise the spirits. We were blessed with their harmonic tones of The London Gospel Choir for the whole afternoon. Jim and Carly took the opportunity to go off for a drive and spend some time together, while the guests lined the driveway to Branston Lodge for a confettii shot. This was followed by a nicely relaxing drinks reception on the lawn of this beautiful Essex wedding venue.
As the sun dropped, I took the guys for a stroll around the grounds and photographed a few portraits. Great evening light. great dancing!
I really enjoyed this Barnston Lodge wedding photography in the company of an absolutely ace crowd. Thank you Jim and Carly for asking me to capture your story.
