Barnston Lodge wedding photography

As the days become shorter and an autumnal coolness fills the air, I’ve realised that it’s been some months since I’ve blogged a wedding story. Let’s start the catch-up with a truely great one. The Barnston Lodge wedding photography of the delightful Jim and Carly.

Hot. Really hot. The summer sun was beating down from start to finish. A feast of traditional church wedding and reception in the grounds of a stunning home, tucked away and off the more busy local wedding radar. A gem. Essex wedding venue Barnston Lodge.

My day started in Hornchurch, Essex, at the home of a delightful couple. Jim and Carly. The girls were being skillfully beautified in the capable and skillfull hands of Olivia Ferrer.  Great light in the kitchen area to play with and the humour was flowing. Not a sign of pre-wedding nerves from Carly.

A very Dapper crowd – Jim and the guys. Sharp suits. Just a short walk along from Barston Lodge is the unusual white washed church – St Andrews. This makes this whole church/reception venue such a unique location. I’d actually never heard of it before, after 500 weddings and close to 12 years as an Essex wedding photographer. Just perfect for a summer marriage, with your own personal spin on the venue styling.

The service was really spesh. Nothing like a gospel choir to raise the spirits. We were blessed with their harmonic tones of The London Gospel Choir for the whole afternoon.  Jim and Carly took the opportunity to go off for a drive and spend some time together, while the guests lined the driveway to Branston Lodge for a confettii shot. This was followed by a nicely relaxing drinks reception on the lawn of this beautiful Essex wedding venue.

As the sun dropped, I took the guys for a stroll around the grounds and photographed a few portraits. Great evening light. great dancing!

I really enjoyed this Barnston Lodge wedding photography in the company of an absolutely ace crowd. Thank you Jim and Carly for asking me to capture your story.

Essex wedding images

It’s been a pretty exceptional year so far for me. I’ve photographed and witnessed some wonderful love stories. Capturing these Essex wedding images of Jonny and Leanne’s day has to be up there with my favourites for the year so far.

The location for this visual fest, was Jonny’s stunning family home in White Notley. The grounds were a perfect wedding location, with mature trees and a lake. The church,  Just at the end of the driveway to the house – Bride Crossing signs alerting drivers of the forthcoming service!

I met Leanne and the girls at the house while they were being suitably pampered and preparing themselves for the day. Jonny and the guys were just down the road in the village pub, again a short walk from church and celebrations.

The weather was playing ball. Glorious sunshine and nicely warm. Great light when the bridal party made there way down the long drive to the church for a wonderful service with a very modern minister!

One of my favourite images captured just after the service as Jonny and Leanne were heading back to the reception. A sillhouette with the church and wedding party in the background.

A really superb day capturing these Essex wedding images in the company of an immense group of people. Congratulations to Jonny and Leanne. I wish them both many happy years together.

Gaynes Park wedding Photos

The 2017 wedding season is now well under way. A slightly drizzly start to a May Friday saw me shooting the Gaynes Park wedding photos of Mike and Rachel and what a great wedding to photograph!

Gaynes Park  is a stunning venue in Spring/Summer. Everytime I photograph a wedding at this Essex venue, it seems to change – they have a talented gardener working there.

The Girls were in great spirits getting ready in the Coach House. Rachel gave out some gifts to her bridesmaids and received a card and gift from Mike. This led to a laughter/tears combo and had the make-up team slightly concerned about their hard work!

I was joined by my fave husband and wife film making team – Steve and Jenny from Unique Visuals I’ve actually just had a look at their new website – Superb. Truely reflects the quality of their craft.

Mike and the guys greeted the guests as they arrived in The Orangery for the service. Rachel and the girls made there way down to the end of the garden for the Long Walk into the Orangery. I love these Gaynes Park wedding photos with the procession under the trees into the Orangery.

The sky improved throughout the day, giving us some great evening light for a few couple shots in the garden. That warm evening glow is the key time for these kind of wedding portraits. We caught it beautifully.

Onto the evening party. The music provided by ace DJ Terry Lewis. Terry has really embraced the national wedding awards and has rightly seen a lot of success for his slick work.

What a great wedding. What a couple to work with. Mike and Rachel, my best wishes for a lifetime of happiness together.
