The Gallivant wedding photography: Camber Sands wedding – Nichola and Lewis
This was a great wedding. It tipped it down all day, gale force winds. Infact, it was one of the worst days in September. But, nothing, absolutely nothing that the elements could throw, was going to dampen the spirits of this crowd.
I met Nicola and the girls in The Rye Retreat for some hair and make-up shots. Then a stroll back to a wonderful apartment in Rye high street where the girls got dressed for the big occasion. I love Rye. I photographed a wedding there a few years back and stayed the night. It has a very chilled vibe to it – must take Mrs Carr for a weekend away soon.
After the service in Playden church, we headed back into Rye to make the most of a weather window. This proved to be literally a few minutes of light rain, before it really started to tip.
The colour and the styling of the reception was really cool. Multi-coloured umbrella’s, lanterns, glo-glasses, wild flowers…amazing job guys. It was dull outside, but you really made the reception room at The Gallivant Beach Bistro, something really special.
Nicola and Lewis certainly are not feint hearted, being very keen to walk across the road onto Camber sands. Driving rain and sand whipped up by the wind, quickly drove us back. I actually like these shots! Lewis, being an Aussie…determined to make it to the beach!
