Essex garden wedding photography
I had been looking forward to this Essex garden wedding photography for some time. Why? Well, a great couple – Tom and Nicky. A classic English village church and a stunning garden party reception. I love these weddings for their uniqueness and idividuality.
The girls were getting ready when I arrived at Nicky’s beautiful family home in the Essex village of Black Notley. The gardens looked incredible and the sun was just breaking through, giving the opportunity for some nice light at the drinks reception.
I took the opportunity to get some shots of the reception marquee before leaving for the church. Wedding Planner Bernadette of Dream Occasions was directing the final touches to a very stylish look. Bev of Jades Flowers creating another visual floral feast.
I have worked at St Mary’s Church in Bocking, Essex before. It’s a huge church and has pretty good light levels. Some restricted views for a photographer from the front, but a minister with a great sense of humour and an advocate of wedding photography!
I did my normal thing and just shot some natural pictures of Tom and the guys, avoiding anything posed until well after the service. Tom looked very calm and collected, awaiting the arrival of his beautiful bride.
After the service, while Tom and Nicky signed the register, the guests were treated to some musical entertainment. Nicky’s sister singing….wow, what a voice.
Back at the Essex house, drinks were served on the front lawn. The sun played it’s part adding to the mood of the garden wedding photography. Tom and Nicky had a great idea. A classic blue sofa placed on the lawn, which we used for group shots and general chilling!
I also worked alongside Hang the Moon for the first time. Mark was a great guy to work with and creates visually rich wedding films. I will be recommending him to my future clients.
A really great day. Tom, Nicky, my best wishes for a lifetime overflowing with happiness. Thank you for allowing me to play a small part in your celebrations.
