London Engagement Photography
A Sunday morning on the embankment and it felt like the first day of Spring had arrived. I had planned to meet my clients, Emma and Oliver at 11.00am. My timing was keen and I arrived a little too early, so took a stroll along the embankment and looked out for some suitable locations for this London engagement photography assignment.
The embankment looked popular this morning. Joggers cutting through the hoards of tourists, all making the most of the sun and warmth. I lost count of how many times I was asked to take a couple shot on someones iPhone…..I should charge for this:-)
Emma and Oliver arrived and after a quick chat we made a start on their engagement photography. Strong backlight made the London Eye a striking backdrop for a silhouette scene. I’m really pleased with this shot. It’s a classic example of making the light work in your favour. Strong and low winter sun off to the right would just not work for a more conventional image in this location.
I tend to keep these sessions very relaxed. Infant, I try to put myself in the couples situation and think how I would feel and keep them involved in the image ideas and locations.
With the embankment being so busy, we used this again to our advantage, dropping the sea of surrounding people out of focus and picking out Emma and Oliver from a distance on a long lens. I like this style of London engagement photography. It just looks so natural. A captured moment in a busy city.
Our Sunday morning stroll took us across Westminster Bridge onto the Southbank, then along to a very busy London Eye. I really enjoyed taking these London engagement photo’s. It was a pleasure to spend some time with Emma and Oliver.
