Photographer Essex Wedding. Abi and Iaan.
I love being a photographer at a good Essex garden wedding. A rural Essex church followed by a unique home-based reception. Abi and Iaan’s day was very much that. The church being a tiny chapel in North Fambridge. The reception being at Abi’s stunning family home. This was also quite an international affair. Iaan is South African and many of his friends and family travelled from Stellenbosch.
The day started with Abi and the girls getting ready. Spirits were high and the humour was flowing. There was a wonderful moment when Mark, Abi’s dad, saw his beautiful daughter, ready for the big day, walking down the staircase. These reactions and moments are at the heart of what I feel makes great wedding photography. The emotion, love and passion that such an occasion brings to the surface.
At the chapel Iaan awaited the arrival of Abi and the bridal party. The chapel was tiny and a suitable location for an intimate family wedding. A smile erupted on Iaan’s face when he first saw the stunning Abi as she arrived at the altar.
After the church service, hugs and moments of congratulations followed by a hail of confetti.
The guests gave Abi and Iaan a rapturous ovation on their arrival back at the family home. The magnificent gardens playing host to the reception party. There were many great spots for some wedding photography couple shots and the groups. The indoor library made a great location for a more relaxed and window lit portrait of the guys.
What a great day this was. Everything that I love about my job. A rural wedding that is up there with my favourites. Abi…Iaan, it has been an absolute pleasure to meet you both and capture the story of your day. I hope I did it justice.
