It’s been a while since I blogged a wedding. So, how better to get things back on track with a rare opportunity. Alfonso and Caroline and their Westminster Abbey wedding photography.
This was a really special day. Not only did I get to work with a really exceptional couple and their amiable guests, I also got to work in the most famous church in England which was an absolute honour. It also fulfilled a personal goal. I have already worked at St Paul’s Cathedral and many of the great London churches. Adding Westminster Abbey to the list is quite incredible. The Lady Chapel is a stunning space, with its pendant fan vault ceiling and banners of the members of the Order of Bath.
Alfonso, wearing a traditional Philipino shirt, awaited the arrival of his beautiful bride…Caroline, who arrived in Deans Yard, along with the bridesmaids, in white London taxi’s.
The wonderful Westminster Abbey wedding photography experience had to come to an end. But, this love story had more in store. Drinks and canapes while cruising the Thames to our wedding reception destination. Westminster Boating Base. What a gem of a venue! One side offers stunning views of the London skyline and the river, while the other is nestled in a green and leafy park.
This was a late season wedding and late in the day. So we arrived in dark….I’d love to get the opportunity to work here in the summer and use that park as a location for group shots.
A relaxing meal, heart-felt speeches with a fair dash of humour. Then some pretty amazing dancing, particulalry by the American contingent. I loved this day. 2 great venues and 2 wonderful people to work with.
Alfonso, Caroline…my best wishes for a lifetime of happiness together.
